Advantages Of A Blog
Almost everything that has advantages have disadvantages but when the advantages of a particular thing out weighs the disadvantages then it becomes insignificant, this is why I will not be discussing the disadvantages of a blog, because honestly I feel there is none. Well, except that the regular fresh content a blog requires can always make you feel on edge.
The advantages of a blog cannot be over-emphasized. The biggest advantage I see is that blogs give people, everyone alike, rich or poor an equal chance to be on the online world and write freely about their opinions, feelings and thoughts on different topics and subjects and actually have people worldwide
read them!
Considering myself as an example. I love expressing myself, and writing gives me the opportunity to do that effectively. I have always wanted a medium where I could put my written contents and have a lot of people read it, so I wrote some articles on MLM and had it published in a local newspaper (Financial Standard Newspaper) in Nigeria. But you will agree with me that, that is limited. With a website I could address the world. But since I do not have a website design skill, it met I had to pay for the service and that presently could cost me N25, 000 or more ($170 or more) Wow! That’s some money. You could imagine how I felt when I realized I could achieve my dream using a blog without spending a dime!

To set up a blog can take as little as 10 minutes and it involves just three simple steps (choose your blogging software, register your account and start blogging).After creating your blog, all you are required to do is to provide as many fresh contents as you can on a regularly basis . You don’t have to spend a dime creating your blog because there are free versions available, but for a profitable blog, it is advised you use hosted Wordpress. This advantage of a blog is one of reasons I love blogs. Your posts and pages are automatically linked by
blogs and that enables search engines spiders to find, crawl and index the blog. With relevant keywords in your blog Title, Meta tags, and the URL pages you could have your pages ranking higher in search engines. Meaning that when anyone type in your keywords into search engines, your page could be among the first few displayed list and that my friend, could relate to lots of free traffic to your blog!
Blogs attract more traffic for it fresh contents
Readers are attracted to blogs because of it fresh regular contents and if as a blogger you are passionate
about what you write about, and committed to providing fresh regular contents on it, thousands who are also passionate about that topic will on a regular basis visit your blog and if you keep updating it regularly with new contents, you will keep them coming.
Blogs creates room for online community
The in –built comment feed on blogs, enable readers to share their opinions about your pages and also start
discussions on different topics.
When you have commentators who provide good information, suggestions and advice, you could create unique relevant content from it and most importantly keep your traffic as they will keep coming to get updates on different topics.
Blogs have built-in RSS Feed
RSS which means Really Simple Syndication syndicate recent posts and deliver them to various blog search
engines and when your readers subscribe to your RSS Feed it automatically delivers your recent posts to their inbox.
Some advantages of a blog from an organizational perspective are as follows:
Blogs enable companies to keep their customers informed on a regular basis. They could post news about new products, policies and opportunities available and have it in front of their customers in a matter of minutes instead of having to send newsletter weekly or monthly.
That helps organizations to develop stronger relationships with their customers and build trust since they can
easily interact with them and get feedbacks.
Companies could drive traffic from their blog to their websites. Blogging also showcase the organization as professionals in what they do and they could build brand loyalty.

Blog tutorial so I can learn to make money online…?
I once cam across a free blog tutorial and it taught the user (such as myself) how to create a money making blog. Does anyone know of a good one that I can follow/use for free here online? I prefer to use Wordpress and I think I want it to be self hosted too. Thanks for your help in this matter.
Automatic Blog WordPress Plugin is the topic of this article. Now that I’ve used it for several months, I’d like to share my experience here as it may be helpful to other Internet Marketers who use WordPress Blogs and bloggers in general who are looking for ways to automate their blog posting.
I own several domain hosted WordPress blogs. My greatest challenge was posting to my blogs on a recurrent basis. Since these blogs are in several niches, I typically researched the current trends in that particular niche, took notes, wrote a brief article about a new slant on the niche and posted to my blogs. Obviously this is time consuming and tedious. Especially if you have to do it for multiple blogs.
Then I experimented with RSS feeds. RSS worked well, except that the feeds only provided partial paragraphs of information. For my visitors to read the entire post, they had to click on the hyperlink. That defeated my purpose of trying to make my blogs “sticky” by providing diverse, quality content.
Besides, the fact that good RSS software tended to be cost prohibitive.
Then I got a Tweet from a friend Nikola about a new product called Automatic Blog. Nick went on to explain that the advantage of Automatic Blog was that it pulled full articles (300 words) from Articlesbase.com article directory directly into any domain hosted WordPress blog, and that once set up, it did this automatically each and every day.
Furthermore I could select from over 300 categories in the article directory and literally “cherry-pick” the sorts of articles I wanted to import.
I’ll just share the results from using Automatic Blog on one of my blogs.
First, I was able to immediately plug the areas that were lacking on my blog. You know those topical areas that you know you should post to, but you just never get around to it. Let me be more specific. Topic of my blog is Internet Marketing. I had originally planned to develop page on Free Traffic, Sales, SEO, PPC, Site Design, etc. Prior to using Automatic Blog, I’d only posted content into one category because I just didn’t have time to write 20 articles.
Within a couple of days of field testing Automatic Blog I posted 10 highly relevant, targeted content articles to my blog.
Now I’m able to meet the needs of my blog visitors and subscribers, by providing a variety of articles that gave advice and solutions to their problems.In the past it would have taken me several days to write 10 articles from scratch.
Automatic Blog literally saves me hours of research, writing and posting. I know there are similar tools on the market, but none of them pulls full articles like Automatic Blog.
Automatic Blog also comes with a complete 13-part video tutorial series to walk through of blogging, from novice to advanced blogging techniques.

I have already addressed the question of website vs. blog in another article, but is any blog suitable for building your coaching business? I’m going to explain here what the basic differences of the major blog software options available and give you my perspective on what I believe to be the best option and why.
LiveJournal: This is where I posted my first blog which was more like an online journal for me. There is a cost to use and host at LiveJournal. Customization is limited and complicated for the average user. The addition of simple programming for implementing marketing strategies is also limited and complicated. I suppose it serves a purpose in the social networking but I don’t consider it a strong choice for business use.
Typepad: This was my next stop as I learned the benefits of blogging for my business. I actually liked this blogging software, but there are some of the same limitations with Typepad as with LiveJournal. There is a monthly fee for hosting and using the Typepad blog. Customization is a little easier with Typepad but still very limited. They make nice use of widgets that the blogger can add to enhance what the blog “does” in terms of marketability and monetization.
Blogger: this is easy blog software to use. While I have an account / profile there I don’t actively post in a blog there. Apparently Google, who owns Blogger, does allow user to post advertising (which is important to the monetization of your blog). But Blogger, which is hosted and operated by Google, has a frequent planned & unplanned outages – downtime, which is extremely inconvenient if you’re trying to run a business. I am also told that it doesn’t take much to “exceed the bandwidth” and have too many visitors to your blog.
There are probably several more less popular options that because they are less well known there are limited resources for customization and upgraded programming to make your blog more “powerful” in terms of what it can do for your business.
In my opinion, and in the opinion of some of the most popular bloggers on the Internet – WordPress is by far the most developed software platform for blogging for business.
WordPress – WordPress is software which can be operated for a community hosted site at WordPresss.com or you can self-host on your own domain.
Here’s the biggest differences between the community or WordPress.com hosted blog software. At WordPress.com there is no software to install – just pick a free theme and start writing posts.
IMHO – Self-hosted WordPress blogs are the ONLY way to go if your blog is a serious part of your overall marketing plan. At sites like MySmallBusinessWebsite.com, the blog installation is done for you, however you do need to customize it…but more on that in another article.
